The Winter Essentials

Building your uniform with your best wardrobe go-tos.

When I think about the essentials in my closet, it’s easy to think only of basics, but the meaning of essentials to me are the pieces you love, wear all the time, and can’t live without. For me, those are usually somewhat simple pieces but I also have more fashion pieces that are my seasonal go-tos. Right now it’s mix of great sweaters, comfortable but polished pants, layering pieces that work in all seasons, and the extra things—coats, bags, shoes—that pull everything together.

A lot of these pieces I’ve had for years, which is a good reminder that we don’t always need to be buying new things every season. As with all things Uniform, it’s about having core essentials that are quality items and work fluidly with the other pieces in your closet.
