The Summer Essentials
Building your uniform with the best wardrobe basics for the warmer months.
I think for most of us summer is all about ease. I want to feel relaxed in my clothes, obviously not too hot, without sacrificing on personal style. I still wear a lot of black but mix in more cream and navy, and I focus on lightweight fabrics. I have turned to the same few brands over the past several summers: Matteau, Toteme, The Row, and Cos, which you will find a good amount of below (tanks, tees, shorts made for adults, dresses, etc etc). When I scrolled past this amazing reference of Mary Kate and Ashley from Annie Collage I felt like this completely summed up my summer wardrobe essential goals - chic and comfortable.

On a more personal note, I am expecting a baby at the end of Summer so the past few months (and really the past month!) the way my clothes fit have been changing. What I have found refreshing in this strange process is sticking to the same uniform I have always worn. I haven’t bought anything labeled maternity- just found pieces that work now and I will wear for seasons to come. This has been such a good reminder to how having a style philosophy, foundational wardrobe, and uniform can outlast change, trends, be for any body type, and translate through different stages—even in flux ones. When you find what you love and what makes you feel like the best version of yourself -stick to it.
