Summer Off-Duty Formulas
Building your uniform with mix and match staples for the days off.
As we get into peak Summer I’ve been leaning more and more on my casual, off duty pieces. The kind of outfits that you walk the neighborhood in, stop at the park and sit on the grass in or walk to dinner in. I realized that everything I have been wearing fell into a pretty obvious formula. Lightweight tops that have some sort of non-boring element (no tees or tanks) and relaxed, mostly cotton, mostly drawstring pants or shorts. It’s all very practical and in my usual clean palette of black, white, and navy but with a touch of happy color -because its summer!
I’ve had the summer shopping itch lately, and while I always go for timeless pieces, some items are fun to pick up along the way that are more of the moment- more yellow, some crochet, leather boat shoes, etc, etc. The great thing about these outfits is that every top and bottom can be VERY easily mixed and matched.
