Short Sets for Summer

Building your uniform with an easy off duty outfit pairing.

Hello!

This week is short and easy because that’s how I feel about putting on a button down with shorts. These sets have been my summer weekend, beach, pool, vacation must have the past few years and I continue to wear them all the time. One random key feature I like in all these- pockets!

Here are my favorites:

Classic Menswear Stripe

Frankie shop was early on this pairing of a button down and shorts set. They make them in a wide range of colors. I love this classic stripe one. The shirts are super oversized, and the shorts (for me) tend to be small mostly because the elastic waist is quite stretchy/tight (which keeps them in great shape for many seasons). I size down in the shirt and take my true size in the shorts.

Khaki

I haven’t tried this set but it’s on my list! Buck Mason is great quality for price. I like the white drawstring on the shorts, how it matches with the shirt buttons, and this color feels like something you could wear many places. My experience with Buck Mason is to take your true size.

Short Sleeve Version

This is my latest get in shorts set. I really like the short sleeves and longer length short. It’s oversized and straight silhouette which makes it less boxy and more directional. I have shorter legs, so I did hem my shorts just a couple inches to hit between top of knee/middle of thigh.

Black

I love Leset and I lean on a black set A LOT- great for city, not so hot beach days, vacations when the shirt could double up for dinner. Super versatile.

Ticking Stripe

I love the lux fabric and thought through details of Attersee shorts sets. This navy charcoal color is a great option too. I have these shorts and a tunic top that matches - said tunic is sadly sold out. BUT this night shirt I love. Great for wearing as a dress over a swimsuit. These are also my favorite shorts to wear on their own with a swimsuit. The cuff and elastic waist create a cute shape.

Chocolate Brown

Because we can’t get enough of chocolate brown. Also great for city days and trips when you need the pieces to work double or triple time.

Light Olive Stripe

Love the olive green stripe and lightweight fabric.

Soft Denim

A little more detail to this one. I found it because I was looking at the shirt, so cute with the hood and drawstring! I love the a-line shape on the shorts. Great for every day, off duty, life.
