Jewelry is something I have become pretty passionate about over the past 10 years. It is the only accessory that you never have to take off and can wear the same pieces in nearly every context, every day. I think its an interesting juxtaposition to have such hard object that sits directly on your skin. I put a lot of value in it and really care about the quality, mostly because it’s touching my skin all the time, it is the biggest investment piece for me. I gravitate more toward chain links, yellow gold, and sculptural pieces, which you’ll find a lot of here, but I hope what you take away is how to find the quality, everyday basics that work for you, and how to be really intentional about building your collection.

Chain Link Necklace
As mentioned, I love chain link jewelry. Since I prefer yellow gold, I think the masculinity and heaviness of a chain helps ground the overly glossiness that yellow gold can give off sometimes.
The Laura Lombardi above is a great example of how the chunky balances out the shiny gold. This is also gold plated, which isn’t something I would sleep or shower in, but makes it a great value for the piece and a great option if you don’t want to spend a ton.
The quality and attention to detail in all the Sherman Field 1967 pieces are incredible. She has found the perfect color, tone, and weight in every piece. I love her range of pendants that you can add, and I love the one here because the hoop detail provides so much function!
Next is Jane Win. She does a lot of astrological sign pieces, which makes for a really great gift (I am a capricorn in case you were wondering!). For the price, the tone and weight of the chain is really nice.
Finally, Mejuri is such a good price for the quality. It’s 14k gold and a nice warm tone without being too shiny.
