A couple weeks ago I wrote about simplifying holiday dressing by adding a few special pieces to the mix. My worst fear in life is to be overdressed and during the holidays that can feel like a slippery slope. I have been putting my thoughts into practice and here is how it’s coming together.
The Holiday Uniform
I had a lot of these pieces already and I added a few to make it all feel new. My pants are old Celine, a heavy texture wool, they are 10 years old- I love them. These Proenza Schouler pants look similar. The jacket is new from Attersee, I absolutely love how comfortable it is but still looks structured and polished. The faux fur pouch was a fun element to add to the mix and a great texture for winter. Semi Sheer tall socks to make it all elegant. And my latest obsession, these perfect red satin shoes from Emme Parsons.

Jewelry
My favorite way to make an outfit feel more festive is to add jewelry, whether it's layering your everyday pieces or adding one statement piece. Jewelry is such a good investment, when I buy a piece, I do it thoughtfully and plan to keep it forever.

I love the sculptural and modern feel of the Oera collection from Tabayer. The pave gives the pieces texture and the warm gold makes it soft and inviting. The modern designs are unexpected. The 18k necklace has about 1 carat of pave dappled over the pendant. The chain is adjustable to drop the pendant higher or lower. The yellow gold ring is coiled with carnelian, sapphires, and brown diamonds. You can put these pieces on with an all-black outfit for a touch of holiday but still elegant and understated.
Bonus Outfit!
My best friend Becky of Five Things You Should Buy launched a collaboration with Alex Mill- all Holiday Things. It’s charming, fun, and unexpected, just like Becky! This suit fits great, which is all that matters when it comes to a suit. Check out her full collaboration here.
See you next week!
